Lakme Fashion Week
Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) is mutually organized by Lakme, the No.1 cosmetics and beauty brand in India and IMG Fashion, global leader in the management and production of fashion weeks and designer fashion events. LFW has been visualized and created with a vision to “Redefine the future of fashion and assimilate India into the global fashion world”. LFW is organized twice annually.
The Lakme Fashion Week also sees a change in venue in it’s 10th year. Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) hosted its sixth model auditions on 2nd February, 2009 for its already held Fall-Winter 2009 season this March from 27th to 30th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, moving from NCPA in South Mumbai in the suburbs perhaps an attempt to make the event much more accessible to the general public.

A dress worth 8 lakh gifted to Kareena
Bollywood artist Kareena Kapoor will be wearing a dress worth Rs.8,00,000 for a song in Kambakkht Ishq. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had specially ordered it for the artist from Paris.
“When the song was finished and the whole group had a look, it looked very beautiful and eye catching. But most importantly everyone’s eyes were stuck at seeing Kareena’s dress. Kareena was looking attractive. The dress cost Rs.8,00,000,” said a source close to the producer.
The filmmaker has also gifted the dress to Kareena as she looked really beautiful wearing it. “Sajid Nadiadwala is a wonderful person at heart. He always makes sure that his cast and team is happy. Kareena was happy after receiving such an extra-ordinary gift
Kareena plays a supermodel in the movie, which has Akshay Kumar in the male lead. It also stars Hollywood biggies Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards.

G20 Protests
US President Barack Obama has spoken of a “sense of necessity” needed to tackle the global economic crisis.
The President met UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown at Downing Street ahead of the G20 summit of world leaders.
Thousands of protesters have gathered in the City of London. A few fights have broken out as they call for changes in the economic system.
Some demonstrators got on to the roof of the Bank of England, while windows were broken at a nearby branch of RBS.
Scotland Yard said 23 people had been arrested in connection with the protests.
Police estimated that up to 4,000 protesters – anti-capitalists, anarchists, and climate change activists – had assembled in London’s financial centre.
Police leave during the two-day summit that has been cancelled and six police forces are involved in the £7.5m security plan.
However in harsh contrast to the scenes of fight and destruction, our correspondent Mark Georgiou said the atmosphere at the climate protest at Bishopsgate was one of “music and meditation”.
