Trigonometry Revision sums
1. A man standing on the deck of a ship, which is 8m above water level. He observes the angle of elevation of the top of a hill as 60` & the angle of depression of the base of the hill as 30`. Calculate the distance of the hill from the ship and the height of the hill.
2. The angle of elevation of a jet plane from a pt ‘a’ on the ground is 6o`. After a flight of 15 sec, the angle of elevation changes to 30`. If the jet plane is flying at a constant height of 1500 * 1.73 (1500 x root 3), find the speed of the jet plane.
3. A person standing on the bank of river observes that the angle of elevation of the top of the tree standing on the opposite bank is 60`. When he moves 40m away from the bank, he finds the angle of elevation to be 30`. Find the height of the tree and the width of the river.
4. The angle of elevation of the top Q of a tower PQ from a point X on the ground is 60`.At a point Y , 40m vertically above X the angle of elevation is 45`. Find the height of the tower PQ and the distance XQ.
5. A man on the deck of a ship is 16m above water level. He observes that the angle of elevation of the top of a cliff is 45` & the angle of depression of the base is 30`. Calculate the distance of the cliff from the ship & the height of the cliff.

Math’s worksheet – linear equations
1. Find 2 no.s whose sum is 108 and difference is 24.
2. Sum of two numbers is 120. 3 times the greater is equal to 5 times the smaller. Find them.
3. 2 numbers are in the ratio 3:4. I f the former is increased by 10 & the latter decreased by 20, and then the former will be double the later. Find them.
4. A certain no. of 2 digits is 3 times the sum of its digit & if 45 be added to it the digits get reversed. Find the number.
5. A 2 digit no. is obtained either by multiplying sum of its digits and adding or multiplying the difference in the digits by 24 & adding 2 to it. Find the number.
6. 10 years ago a father was twice as old as his son. 10 years hence, father will be 1 and a half times as old as his son. Find their present ages.
7. A bag contains 94 coins of 50 paisa and 25 paisa denominations. If the total worth of these coins is Rs29.75. find the no. of coins in each kind.
8. 2 men and 7 boys can do a piece of work in 4 days. The same work is done in 3 days by 4 men and 4 boys. How long will it take for I man and 1 boy to do it.
