Kollwood’s Superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan gathered at a special broadcast of the Tamil film “Ponnar Shankar” on Wednesday evening after Tamil Nadu finished voting for its next government.

Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was seated next to them. This film is based on his (CM) novel of the same name.

The movie stars Prashanth, Khushboo, Seetha, Sneha, Divya Parameswaran and Pooja Chopra.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra-One is a science fiction superhero film, directed by Anubhav Sinha. Kareena Kapoor will be featured as the leading lady in the film and Arjun Rampal will be the big mysterious and dreadful villain.

It seems that Ra-One is the abbreviation for Random Access – Version 1.0.

The movie was planned to be released on 3rd June 2011, but later on pushed back due to extensive post production work. The film is set for release on 26th October 2011.

In September 2010, Khan signed Hans Zimmer to compose the background score for the film thus making Ra.One Zimmer’s first Bollywood project. Apart from Zimmer, singer Akon was also roped in to sing a song for the film. The singer arrived in India on March 8, 2010 and recorded two songs with composers Vishal-Shekhar.

WORLD TOUR

 

The “A.R. Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour” started on June 11 at the Nassau Coliseum in New York and will span 16 major cities worldwide.

 

In this tour, ARR is working together with creative director Amy Tinkham, who has worked to create concerts for Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey. The tour will not only feature Rahman’s music, but also dance arrangements and acrobatics enthused by his native India.

Little Mozart A.R Rahman, the composer of the Commonwealth Game’s Theme Song  ‘Yaaro India Bula Liya’, apologised a day back and said he was “sorry” if this track has displeased anybody after it involved controversies.

“I am sorry if I have let anybody down on this but definitely I am proud of the composition and the anthem,” the Oscar Winner said.

He understood that it is easier said than done to satisfy everyone but promised to try his best in future.

Rahman said that in his study the composition went “great” during the opening day ceremony. “It had lovely feedback from Australia, England and all those places, who had not heard about controversy and they loved the song” he added.
