Chelsea crushed Wigan Athletic 8-0 on Sunday to domesticate the English Premier League title, ensuring they ousted Manchester United by a lone point after making a record haul of 103 goals in this season.

This title was a stunning display from Carlo Ancelotti’s side for the first time since Jose Mourinho brained back to back wins in 2004-05 and 2005-06.

The Red Devils, Manchester United tried to defend the title by defeating Stoke 4-0 at Old Trafford but Chelsea cannot be dumped by the Wigan at the final match.

Nicolas Anelka scored the opener in the first 5 minutes that made the supporters calm and it was confirmed that the title was Chelsea’s after Frank Lampard scored the penalty in the 30thminute. It was his 22nd goal in this season.

Didier Drogba got into action in a unknown way with Lampard above who was taking that penalty but still ended the after with the Hat-trick, that ensured that he took the EPL’s golden boot with 29 goals.

Anelka ended up with a double and Salomon Kalou and Ashley Cole also got in on the act as Chelsea ran up their biggest ever victory in the top flight.
