As the winning team of Slumdog Millionaire finally made it to the Vanity Fair ball the children in the group were disappointed to learn that superstar Madonna had already left the party.
The cast members of the team were the last to enter the party at around 2 a m, having made the rounds of the other celebratory bashes including the one thrown by the producers of the film, Fox Searchlights and the Governor’s Ball.
And young actor’s Tanay Chedda and Ayush Khedekar were disappointed to know that superstars like Madonna and Mick Jagger had already left the party.
“Everywhere we go, everyone says Vanity Fair is the party to come to,” a child actor said, while adding that they hope to make it in time next year to meet their idols.
The legendary Vanity Fair’s Oscar party, which was held at the Sunset Tower Hotel, was attended by all the Oscar winners marking their presence at the biggest Oscar after party.
Oscar winners Sean Penn, Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet partied amongst other A-listers like Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Reese Witherspoon, Will Smith and Jessica Biel.
But the post-Oscar bashes received a royal snub from the golden couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who skipped the festivities to retire to their hotel.
Pitt and Jolie were nominated together in the Best Actor and Best Actress category but returned empty handed as the highly competed category wins went to Sean Penn and Kate Winslet.
Pop queen Madonna, whose entry was anticipated eagerly, disappointed the gathered media by turning up solo without current love interest, 22-year-old Brazilian model Jesus Luz.
But Jesus was by her side at the party she co-hosted with Demi Moore at millionaire Guy Oseary’s house. Another couple at the party was Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan.
While Ronson was the DJ for the night, Lindsay joined the crowd on the dance floor. However, it was rap mogul P Diddy who stole the show when he picked up the mic and started rapping, cheered on by the Hollywood crowd.
Another important event in the Oscar planner was Elton John’s AIDS Foundation charity ball which was attended by the fashionista duo Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes.
The proceeds of the event go to charities working against the spread of the deadly disease of AIDS. The ball which was sponsored by Chopard raised nearly USD 4 million this year
