Six prizes have been won by Iraq war drama “The Hurt Locker” has, which includes best picture, at the British Academy Film Awards.

The best director prize was son by this film’s director Kathryn Bigelow, defeating other nominees together with her ex-husband James Cameron, the director of Avatar.

This film also won awards for cinematography, editing, original screenplay and sound. Avatar pulled out prizes for production design and visual effects.

The film also won the award for the Best Film at the BAFTA’s held on 21st February 2010.
